Georgia is in the middle of its Scavenger Hunt weekend with multiple five-star visitors. The weekend includes a mix of top prospects who are taking unofficial visits (on their own dime) and official visits (paid for by the school under NCAA rules.) Five-star wideout Jeremiah Smith falls under the official visit umbrella.

The nation’s top wideout arrived in Athens on Friday and he’ll leave on Sunday. On Saturday, however, he got a chance to take a few photos in a Bulldog uniform and, from what it looks like (per his Instagram), he’s having a heck of a time. (Scroll right for more photos.)

Smith is committed to Ohio State but is entertaining Georgia’s advances pretty heavily. Recent Georgia commitment Dylan Raiola, the nation’s No. 1 quarterback and No. 1 overall prospect per the On3 Industry Ranking.

Raiola, too, was committed to Ohio State for most of last football season and the two built a connection there. It is Kirby Smart’s hope that the connection will pay off for his program but the Georgia head man has some cachet in his own right.

“I’ll just start with Kirby Smart,” Smith told Gators Online’s Keith Neibuhr. “He’s a leader. He’s a player’s coach. That’s one thing I see from him. A player’s coach. He bonds well with the players and that’s one thing I like. Georgia players go play for Coach Kirby because of who he is. He’s a leader. He loves his team and I am used to winning.”

He also plans to take official visits schedule to Florida, Ohio State, and Penn State. Florida State and Miami are battling to get one, too.

Jeremiah Smith scouting report…

At 6-foot-3 198 pounds, Smith is the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect and No. 1 wideout per the On3 Industry ranking, a weighted average that includes all four recruiting coverage and evaluation publications. Smith is also the No. 1 player in Florida.

“Big, skilled receiver with fluidity and savvy for the position. Measured in at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds prior to his junior season. Had a breakout 2021 season, helping his Chaminade-Madonna team to a state championship. Turned in several strong performances, including a big state title game. Polished route-runner at this early stage. Smooth mover with some technical refinement that allows for separation. Shows good ball skills with his ability to track the football over his shoulder. Does not register as a top athlete in the combine setting at this stage. Can further take advantage of his size by continuing to improve his contested catch skills.” — On3 Sports
