Georgia has landed two commitments in the past five days with offensive linemen Michael Uini and Daniel Calhoun and it might get another on Thursday. Oak Ridge (Conroe, Tex.) defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye has made it known that he is moving up his commitment date from July 12 to July 6.

The 6-foot-4 275-pound defender announced the change via Twitter where he also made it known that he will be revealing his decision at 10 p.m. ET. He’ll be choosing from four schools, a list that includes Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, and Oregon.

UGA remains the heavy favorite to land the elite defensive lineman. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Bulldogs sit at 96.4 percent to land him. Oklahoma is the only other program with over a one-percent chance. It sits at 1.2 percent.

Jonah-Ajonye has been to the Classic City twice. The first trip was in April and it was for a one-day unofficial visit. Georgia began trending after that visit and it kept the momentum going into his official visit, which took place on June 23.

On3 Scouting on Joseph Jonah-Ajonye…

While Jonah-Ajonye has asserted himself as a national prospect in the 2024 class, he is only in his fourth year playing football. He currently ranks as the nation’s No. 44 overall prospect per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes ratings from all four recruiting coverage websites. He’s also the No. 8 defensive lineman in America and the No. 10 prospect in Texas.

“Athletic, versatile defensive lineman with one of the higher developmental upsides at the position in the 2024 cycle. Measured at around 6-foot-3.5, 255 pounds prior to his senior season. Has a big frame and plus length with a 10.5-inch hand and wing-span over 6-foot-10. An easy, natural athlete who moves like a much smaller player. Lines up at defensive end and inside on Friday nights. Flashes outstanding speed in pursuit, running down plays from the backside. Jonah-Ajonye plays to the whistle and makes second effort plays. Shows quick hands at the point of attack. Is a mismatch due to his quickness and overall athleticism when he slides inside. Capable of overpowering offensive tackles as a edge setter against the run. Will need to continue honing his skill and growing as a player. Could stand to improve his pass rush. Born in Nigeria and did not start playing football until his freshman year of high school. Also extraordinarily young for the cycle, with a November birthday. Is the age of a 2025 prospect. Has notable upside based on his lower level of development and the room for growth relative to most other top 2024 prospects.”
