Kendall Milton, Roderick Robinson out for Georgia against UAB
ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia is going to be down a pair of scholarship running backs Saturday night when it takes on UAB. The Bulldogs have emerged for pregame warm ups and both Kendall Milton and Roderick Robinson are in street clothes.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said this week that Milton was doing rehab and working with the team after suffering a sprained MCL last Saturday against South Carolina. As for Robinson, he had not done any work with the team as of Tuesday for a high ankle sprain.
It’s the latest injury for a Georgia running back room that has dealt with several already this season. Daijun Edwards missed the first two games of the season with his own sprained MCL, and Branson Robinson was lost for the year to a ruptured patella tendon during preseason camp. Andrew Paul has been healthy but gaining confidence in his knee after a torn ACL last year.
Milton is in his fourth season with the program and has missed at least one game in each. As a freshman, the Fresno, Calif. native missed three games. Then it was seven his sophomore season. Both of those were to MCL sprains thought to be more serious than the one he’s currently dealing with.
Last season, Milton missed two games for a groin injury. In the 13 games he played however, Milton totaled eight rushing touchdowns and 592 yards on 85 carries, good for third in all three categories.

In three games so far this season, Milton has 23 carries for 96 yards and one touchdown. His best game came in the opener against UT-Martin with nine carries for 53 yards, however he had a key 15-yard run on Georgia’s first touchdown drive of the game last week against South Carolina.
As for Robinson, the freshman out of San Diego has 89 yards on 15 carries so far this season. He had just a single carry and yard against South Carolina meaning his first two games totaling 14 carries, 88 yards and both of his touchdowns.
Down Milton and Robinson (plus Branson Robinson), Georgia is left with just two scholarship running backs tonight. Edwards and Paul are expected to be counted on along with walk-on Cash Jones. Wide receiver Dillon Bell has also lined up in the back field for carries at points so far this season.
Kickoff time to Georgia-UAB at Sanford Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The Bulldogs are six-score favorites.
