Kenny McIntosh exits Georgia football with farewell message
Kenny McIntosh let reporters know that he was entering the 2023 NFL Draft after Georgia’s 65-7 win over TCU on Monday. He took the time on Tuesday to issue a statement where he bid farewell to the UGA program and thanked those who played a part in his development.
“First I’d like to thank God for the ability to play the game I love on the #1 college football team in the country. I never would’ve been as successful without his love, gifts, and talents.
“Secondly, I’d like to thank my family for their many sacrifices over these past 4 years that helped me along my journey. You’re my support system and I’ll always be grateful for everything you have done.
“Thirdly, to my coaches and coaching staff, you’ve helped me to become a better man both on & off the field. Thank you for the opportunities!
“Last but not least, to my teammates. Back to back Champions! ‘How bout them Dawgs?’ I’ll cherish the brotherhood we shared for life.
Now, as I enter the 2023 NFL Draft I’m grateful for all the memories and even more excited for the next chapter of my life! Go Dawgs. Kenny McIntosh. Blueprint #6″

McIntosh had a breakout season in 2022, carrying the football 150 times for 829 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. He added 41 catches for 504 yards and two scores. He was Georgia’s third-leading receiver on the year and leading rusher.
The South Florida native trended upward throughout his entire Georgia career. He had 174 yards rushing and two touchdowns as a true freshman in 2019. He racked up 251 yards rushing and a touchdown in 2020.
He took a big step forward in Georgia’s first National Championship season in 2021, piling up 330 rushing yards and three touchdowns while also catching 22 passes for 242 yards and two scores.
The only reason McIntosh has to make such an announcement is because of the NCAA’s decision to not count the 2020 season against the eligibility of any player in any sport. He’s a senior who just wrapped up his fourth season with the program but has one more year of eligibility because of the COVID season.
