Kevin Kisner could win his first PGA Tour event of the year at the Travelers Championship today. That would make it back-to-back Georgia golf wins at the tournament after Harris English’s victory in 2021.

Now, English played a swell tournament in his own right thus far. It’s just his third tournament of the year after coming back from hip surgery. After three rounds, English found himself seven strokes back (-10) of leader Xander Schauffele (-17).

As for Kisner, he is putting his way to contention at TPC River Highlands. The stick is hot. He’s four shots back (-13) of Schauffele.

Kisner carded six birdies in the third round to shoot a 66 and make a serious run at the lead.

Of all the PGA Tour players in front of him on the leaderboard, none are as good as Kisner at one evergreen-important metric:

‘Shots Gained – Putting.’

Kisner ranks 23rd in that category. Which is good, because his story in the ‘Shots Gained: Off the Tee’ column is different (142nd).

But if you’ve ever lost money to your friends on the golf course, you know that you drive for show and putt for dough, right?

If that’s Kevin Kisner’s approach and execution again today, even if he doesn’t win, he’ll be in some big money. The purse is $8.3M.

As Kisner often reminds us, this ain’t no hobby. He’s already finished in the top 10 four times this season, for $3.1M in winnings.

More drip drip today just means more drip drip for a Damn Good Dawg.

Kisner tees off at 1:45PM. You can watch his, and other Dawgs’ early rounds starting at 1PM on the Golf Channel.

Coverage concludes starting at 3PM on CBS.
