Kevin Kisner is just feeling his way around the course during his 2022 U.S. Open prep. A spectator during Monday’s practice round is feeling it, too.

The Georgia golf alum hit a shot on one of The Country Club’s back nine par-fives. It did not reach its intended target.

“I smoked a guy today,” Kisner told Barstool Sports’s ‘Fore Play’ Podcast.

This was Kevin Kisner’s first practice round at the Brookline, Mass., course. It’s safe to say he’ll never forget it.

“I had no idea because it was a blind shot. I’ve never been there before. I pushed it a little right on that par-5 on the back, and I was like, ‘that’s probably on the fairway.’ Go up there and there’s a dude laying on the ground.”

Kisner and the fan have a hilarious exchange

Kevin Kisner did speak with the fan, and it seems like he’ll be okay.

But taking a PGA player’s projectile to the leg isn’t the best way to spend your day at a major practice round.

“I was like, ‘did that hit you?!’ and he was like, ‘yeah.’ And I’m like, ‘why were you standing there? That’s a terrible spot to stand.’

When the ‘Fore Play’ crew gave Kisner some crap for that being his response to the fan, Kisner doubled down.

“You got hit in the leg. Stand up, bro. It’s not like I hit him in the dome.”

It wasn’t all pain for the fan, though. Kisner signed him a glove with his trademark sense of humor:

“That leg looks like it hurts.”

Despite the errant shot, Kevin Kisner likes his chances at the U.S. Open

Kisner told the show that he can win the U.S. Open – specifically because of The Country Club’s layout.

“There’s no quirky tee shots,” Kisner said. “You hit it straight, it goes in the fairway.”

Then he admitted he’d only played nine holes. So we’ll see how that plays out.

Kisner’s at +21000 to win the U.S. Open, per VegasInsider. He’ll play alongside fellow Georgia alums Russell Henley (+12000) and Brian Harman (+21000) in the first two rounds.

Harris English (+21000) and Sepp Straka (+27000) are also exempt for the tournament.
