Kirby Smart updates availability of Georgia lineman trio
ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has seen his team practice a couple of times ahead of its game against Mississippi State this coming Saturday. Asked how banged up Bulldogs Jared Wilson, Christen Miller and Jordan Hall have looked in practice, he shared the following:
“Christen’s been able to practice. Jared’s better than he wasn’t but not taking full load of reps. Doing more than he did last week. Jordan’s trying to get out there and go. I hate it for that kid because he’s out there frustrated. He’s doing more than he did last week but I don’t know that I can say he’ll be ready to play this week.”
Wilson and Hall were both listed as game-time decisions this past week with neither seeing the field. Smart noted that Wilson was available as an “emergency center” if needed. As for Miller, the third-year defensive lineman was announced as “out for the game” with a knee injury during the fourth quarter. Smart said he was on the sideline with ice on his knee but believed that his lack of presence on the field had more to do with the scoreboard than it did the severity of injury.
