Look at the numbers: Georgia leading the nation in home runs

Georgia baseball is leaning on the long ball.
The Bulldogs are 26 games into the 2026 season and lead the nation in home runs. Georgia’s lineup has accounted for 70 home runs already.
The powerful offense has helped Wes Johnson’s group out to a 24-2 record so far this season. The Bulldogs are led by strong individual performances as well.
Georgia’s lineup is led by two new faces. They also sit at the top of the home run rankings from an individual standpoint.
Ryland Zaborowski leads the country with 14 home runs. He also is seventh in the nation in batting average with a .467 average. Zaborowski transferred to Georgia from Miami (Ohio). UT-Arlington transfer Robbie Burnett is second in the country with 13 home runs.
The home run-hitting prowess of Georgia is something that has been synonymous with Johnson in his time in Athens. The Bulldogs were in the top five in home runs in 2024. Charlie Condon led the country in home runs in 2024 on his way to winning the Golden Spikes Award.

Georgia has a home run-hitting culture
For Johnson, it’s a combination of approach as well as Georgia’s home park. Foley Field is built for home run hitters.
“It’s an approach thing,” Johnson said back on March 8 after a win over Columbia “I know people are tired of me tired of me talking about it, but on opening weekend we played in 30 miles per hour wind. Our conservative numbers say that we should have had eight home runs. We walked out of there with three. I think we’ve got off a lot of good swings. You’re seeing more home runs because we’re at home. We build our team around our home ballpark.”
Georgia gets back on the field today with a game against West Georgia. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. at Foley Field. Georgia will host SEC rival Auburn over the weekend.
