LOOK: Dylan Raiola spotted in Athens on Georgia visit
Georgia quarterback commit and the nation’s No. 1 overall player Dylan Raiola was spotted Friday night at Foley Field in Athens ahead of Georgia’s baseball game against LSU. Raiola is among the many notable visitors expected in town this weekend for the annual scavenger hunt recruiting event.
Raiola announced his commitment to Georgia on Monday afternoon, putting an end to the recruitment for the Pinnacle (Phoenix, Ariz.) signal caller. He previously was committed to Ohio State before decommitting from the Buckeyes in December and considering USC and Nebraska along with Georgia during his second go-around.
Raiola will be joined in Athens this weekend by several of the top prospects in the country including five-star plus+ receiver and Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith – a player who was particularly interested in Raiola’s commitment to Georgia. Smith, who is on his official visit, told On3’s Chad Simmons that it only raises the amount of interest he already had in him.
“Georgia getting Dylan means a lot to me and my interest in them,” Smith told On3. “I have to really give Georgia a look now that they have Dylan.”

Georgia Class of 2024
Georgia already had the No. 1 class in the country before Raiola’s commitment, and his pledge only adds to the Bulldogs’ advantage for the top spot.
On the offensive side, Georgia also has commitments from wide receiver Ny Carr, running back Dwight Phillips, quarterback Ryan Puglisi, wide receiver NiTareon Tuggle, wide receiver Sacovie White and offensive tackle Malachi Toliver.
While the Bulldogs’ defensive class isn’t quite as strong in numbers with just five commits to the offense’s seven, the quality speaks for itself with all in the top-100 according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Commits alongside five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV include linebacker Demarcus Riddick, safety Jaylen Heyward, safety Peyton Woodyard and cornerback Demello Jones.
Dylan Raiola Scouting Report
Advanced arm talent with the ability to make a wide variety of high-level throws as a high school signal-caller. Was identified as a top arm talent and quarterback in the 2024 cycle early on in his high school career. Physically developed at around 6-foot-3, 230 pounds. Has continued to add mass later on in his high school career. Owns a natural, loose throwing motion with arm dexterity to deliver off-platform and from multiple arm slots. Showed a deep catalog of throws as a sophomore. Easily drives the ball to all levels of the field. Played both under center and in the shotgun as a junior. Ahead of the curve as a ball-handler and in the quick passing game. Shows good footwork and awareness in the pocket. Capable of creative plays in the face of pressure. Primarily a pass-first quarterback as a junior, not running for many yards and finishing with -82 yards rushing – an anomaly for a top quarterback prospect. Will need to show more mobility and playmaking ability. Transferred to his third high school prior to his senior season. The son of 14-year NFL center Dominic Raiola. Also a standout baseball player as a pitcher and catcher. – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting
