Luke Bennett, brother of Stetson, set to join Georgia as a walk-on
The Bennett family of Blackshear, Georgia are no strangers to walking on to the team in Athens, with Stetson leading the way, and the rest being, well, history. While the former walk-on quarterback may be the most well-known football player in his family, his younger brother, Luke Bennett, is set to forge a path of his own under similar circumstances.
The 2022 prospect of Blackshear’s Pierce County High School took to social media on Thursday morning to announce that he’ll be following in his brother’s footsteps and walking on to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Stetson took to Twitter soon thereafter to congratulate.
The younger Bennett lists himself as a wide receiver, cornerback, and running back according to both his HUDL page and his Twitter bio.
Additionally, he lists himself at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, the same height and just ten pounds lighter than his older brother is listed according to the official roster at GeorgiaDogs.com.
Luke Bennett’s Twitter bio also includes a self-listed 40-yard dash time of 4.52.
Per his MaxPreps page, Bennett posted nine receptions for 179 yards in his senior season, good for 19.9 yards per catch, to go along with three receiving touchdowns. He also contributed 227 kick return yards last season.

In his career at Pierce, Bennett is credited with 638 receiving yards, 166 rushing yards, and a total of 1032 all-purpose yards in 37 games played. He also recorded ten career tackles on defense.
Expectations high for Stetson Bennett
While the Bennett family may be celebrating a new Dawgs in the family, coaches in Athens have turned up the heat on older brother, Stetson, coming off of his National Championship-winning efforts last season.
“We showed a lot of confidence in Stetson if you didn’t notice and he answered that with the way he played,” Kirby Smart said recently. “I think he would be the first to tell you he can still grow and get better. You know, we have high expectations for Stetson but we also have high standards of what we expect Stetson to do in terms of leading our offense, in terms of going to class and doing the right thing. We’re still challenging him to do those things.”
