M.A. Moncrieffe becomes third Bulldog of day to enter portal
M.A. Moncrieffe arrived at Georgia with exciting potential after spending two seasons at Oklahoma State. Now, after struggling to gain much traction in two seasons with the Bulldogs, it’s on to other things for Moncrieffe.
“My career at Georgia has had its ups and downs. Through it all I’ve felt a tremendous love and support from this wonderful community,” Moncrieffe wrote in a shared statement. “As my career here comes to an end, I want to take time to thank everyone from the janitors, administrations, GAs, managers to the barbers, classmates, fans, coaches, everyone that helped me get through this year. Now it’s time to enter the transfer portal to remind y’all who I am.”

The 6-foot-8, 217-pound native of Toronto started 26 games for Georgia in 2022-23, averaging 5.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Come this past season though, his total playing time dropped to just 16 games and an average of 8.6 minutes per contest. Moncrieffe scored six points against North Carolina Central in the third game of the season, the only time in 2023-24 he made multiple field goals. Moncrieffe played in just three games during the SEC schedule and did not record any points, totaling seven rebounds however.
Moncrieffe will have one year of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
Moncrieffe becomes the third Georgia player to enter the portal on Monday, less than a week after the season came to an end for the Bulldogs. He joins Jalen DeLoach and Justin Hill in doing so, leaving UGA with seven players having the ability to return still (Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Frank Anselem-Ibe, Blue Cain, Silas Demary, Dylan James, Mari Jordan and RJ Melendez).
