Memphis commit Eddie Alford keeps relationship at Georgia warm

Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County offensive lineman Eddie Alford got to scratch the itch that is the interest from Georgia recently. Alford is a Memphis commit.
The Bulldogs have been in communication with Alford for a long time. The in-state program hasn’t offered Alford yet. Alford got the invite to come to Athens to take in the spring practice.
Alford enjoyed what he saw.
“The practice environment is intense Coach Smart is very attention to detail and you can’t get away with anything around him and it’s competitive and fast-paced,” Alford told DawgsHQ. “The thing that stood out the most was the energy they had during the board drill everything was intense fast and fun.”
Georgia’s practice was better than Alford had envisioned.
“Practice exceeded my expectations by far they stand out because of the way everything is being evaluated and studied,” Alford said.

What are Georgia’s next steps with Eddie Alford?
Alford will be back in Athens this summer to camp. He’s looking forward to that experience. Earning an offer from Georgia would be big for the Douglas County star.
“Georgia hasn’t offered me yet but they would be high on my board I like everything about the Dogs,” Alford said. “I’ve been in communication with Georgia for a long time. They are always welcoming. They are always making sure I’m taken care of any time I step foot in Athens… I would value a Georgia offer because I feel I’m under-recruited and that could help my recruitment blow up even more.”
Georgia offensive line coach Stacy Searels had some positive feedback for Alford this weekend.
“I talked to coach Searels he told me being able to snap and play all five positions would get me closer to Georgia but they haven’t offered me yet,” Alford said. “They invited me to a camp over the summer. I’m going to compete and hopefully earn the offer then or when they come to spring practice in late April.”
