Mykel Williams, Dan Jackson impress with 40-yard dash times at UGA Pro Day

ATHENS, Ga. — Pro Day is underway inside the House of Payne indoor facility at Georgia. Over double-digit Bulldogs are taking advantage of the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of NFL scouts. UGA EDGE Mykel Williams and safety Dan Jackson are expected to go in completely different spots in the draft but both turned in impressive 40-yard dash times.
DawgsHQ clocked Williams at 4.74 in his first attempt at the 40. His second time was 4.78 and both were done by hand, making them unofficial. Rusty Mansell reports that most scouts in attendance had Williams in the mid 4.7-second range.
Jackson drew some ooohs and aaahs on his first attempt as DawgsHQ got him at a 4.41 seconds in the 40. The second attempt was 4.42 seconds on our watch but multiple scouts near our location had Jackson at 4.4 flat or below.
Williams attended the NFL Combine approximately two weeks ago but did not work out. He went through the process and spoke with NFL teams and media, but he didn’t participate in the testing. Jackson didn’t even get an invited after a senior season that saw him piled up 64 tackles, two interceptions, 1.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and three pass breakups. That forced fumble was a big one as it helped UGA pull even with Georgia Tech in regulation. The Bulldogs went on to win the game in eight overtimes.

Jackson started 20 games in his Georgia career and played in more than 40. He was a walk-on for his entire six-year career. Williams, on the other hand, came in as a heralded five-star prospect. No Bulldog had more sacks or tackles for loss in the three seasons that Williams spent with Georgia. He racked up 14 total sacks and 22 tackles for loss during that time.
