Georgia’s list of Bulldogs going pro is growing. Defensive lineman/outside linebacker Mykel Williams announced he’s entering the 2025 NFL Draft on Monday, joining a trio of teammates that have also already announced their plans.

“First and foremost, I want to give glory to God for blessing me with the ability and opportunity to live out my dreams. None of this would have been possible without His guidance and grace. To the University of Georgia, thank you for opening doors that have shaped me into the person I am today. The lessons I’ve learned here extend far beyond football, and I will forever be grateful for the support and love I’ve received,” Williams wrote. “To Coach Smart, Coach Scott, Jarvis Jones, Ryan Madeleno and the rest of the coaching staff, thank you for investing in me as a player and as a man. Your belief in my potential gave me confidence to push past limits and embrace the challenge of playing at the highest level of college football … To my teammates, you are more than just teammates. You are my brothers for life. The battles we’ve fought together, the victories we’ve shared and the memories we’ve made will always hold a special place in my heart.”

“After much thought, prayer and conversation with those closest to me, I have decided to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft,” he added. “This journey has been a dream come true, and I am excited to take the next step in my career. Georgia will always be home, and I will forever be proud to call myself a Dawg. Thank you for everything.”

Williams spent three seasons in Athens after signing as a five-star prospect in the Class of 2022. He helped Georgia win a National Championship during his freshman season, leading the team in sacks, and is seen as one of the top overall prospects in this year’s draft class. In 40 career games, Williams totaled 67 tackles including 21.5 for loss and 14 sacks. He posted a career-high five sacks during the 2024 season this fall, doing so in the fewest number of games played – missing a pair due to injury.

Williams joins quarterback Carson Beck, offensive lineman Tate Ratledge and linebacker Jalon Walker in announcing a declaration for the NFL Draft. Others that are out of eligibility and will be in the draft pool include wide receiver Dominic Lovett, tight end Ben Yurosek, offensive lineman Xavier Truss, defensive lineman Warren Brinson, defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse, linebacker Smael Mondon and safety Dan Jackson. Defensive lineman Christen Miller announced plans to return to Athens for another season earlier in the day as well.
