Nakobe Dean has Philadelphia Eagles fans drooling in my Twitter mentions
Nakobe Dean fell to the third round in the NFL Draft.
You know, because he’s too injured, or something.
At least that’s what all of the NFL experts’ reports said before the Philadelphia Eagles said, ‘Uh, yeah. We’ll take him.’
Now, the people of Philadelphia wake up each day and lose their minds about Nakobe Dean.
The injury doubts? Nowhere to be found.
Dean’s size limitations? Who cares. Let’s play today.
Let’s take a look at the social media proof (I know, it isn’t real life, and it’s a limited sample size. But I don’t live in Philly, so it’s pretty much all I got).
First, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni turned into a human fireball behind the mic after the Eagles picked Nakobe Dean
Sounds like the Eagles got everything they wanted and more out of Nakobe Dean.
He loves ball. Are you not entertained? Yeah, you. Behind the camera. Nick Sirianni wants to see you get excited, too.
But it’s the leadership part from Dean’s time at Georgia that has Eagles fans flipping out in my twitter mentions today.

You’ve probably seen the clip by now. Nakobe Dean tells Channing Tindall to wake up in the National Championship game vs. Alabama
Here it is, for the uninitiated:
I don’t know who found it this week, but it’s blown up again with engagement from Philly people.
This will be a fun dynamic for Georgia fans leading up to the NFL regular season. And not just for Nakobe Dean.
These Georgia NFL Draft picks won’t have real football on tape in their new destinations for a few months. Until then, a lot of their highlights will consist of their time in Athens.
By the way, Eagles fans get a bad rap.
I know they threw some frozen beer cans at Falcons fans in the playoffs a few years back, but they couldn’t have been nicer to me when I covered the season opener in Philly in 2018.
They even cooked me some fresh ribeye at their tailgate and offered me a beer before I went on TV for the local news in Atlanta (I said yes to the steak and no to the brew. We all have our regrets.)
All of that to say – they know how to welcome a Dawg up there in Philly.
Here are some of my favorite reactions from Eagles fans to the Nakobe Dean clip, in no particular order:
