Nakobe Dean signs deal with Philadelphia Eagles
Former Georgia inside linebacker Nakobe Dean has officially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, who drafted him with the No. 83 overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Dean’s deal is a four-year deal worth $5,186,894 and will count $943,000 against the cap this coming season for the Eagles.
Dean was widely projected as a first round pick before the draft, but medical concerns caused him to drop into the second day. The Eagles, a team rumored to be interested in him in the first place, ultimately got him in the third round, pairing him with another former Georgia defensive star Jordan Davis.
Dean won the 2021 Butkus Award for the best linebacker in all of College Football. He was named a First-Team All-American by the Associated Press, Walter Camp, American Football Coaches Association, Sporting News and USA Today, among others, finishing second on the team in tackles with 72 tackles. He was first for tackles for loss with 10.5 and second in sacks with 6.0.
