WATCH: Senior highlights from new 4-star Georgia DL pledge Nasir Johnson
Georgia made a rather large, both figuratively and literally, addition to its 2024 class on Wednesday. The Bulldogs flipped Dublin (Dublin, Ga.) defensive tackle Nasir Johnson from Florida, giving them 28 in their No. 1-ranked class.
Johnson had been committed to the Gators since June and Georgia used an in-season push to land the talented defender. The Bulldogs now have five defensive linemen committed in the current class and a quick look at Johnson’s senior highlights show why they made that push.
Johnson plays both ways for Dublin High school. He lines up at multiple positions across the defensive line, even rushing the passer from a defensive end spot at times. The Fighting Irish also use him as a guard on the offensive side of the ball.
At 6-foot-4 300 pounds, Johnson is the nation’s No. 171 overall prospect per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes ratings from all four recruiting services. He’s the nation’s No. 21 defensive lineman and the No. 27 overall prospect in the Peach State.

Johnson joins an impressive defensive line class for the Bulldogs. Georgia added Joseph Jonah-Ajonye over the summer and he’s the highest-rated of the bunch. Jonah-Ajonye is ranked No. 37 overall by the On3 Industry ranking. The Bulldogs also have four-star prospects Justin Greene and Jordan Thomas in the fold. Those two, like Jonah-Ajonye, committed to the Bulldogs over the summer. Three-star nose tackle Nnamdi Ogboko also committed to the Bulldogs this summer.
At 28 commitments, Georgia is still holding strong with the nation’s No. 1 class in the 2024 cycle. The Bulldogs are signing a big defensive line class because they’re expected to lose as many as four defensive linemen at the end of the season. Sixth-year senior Tramel Walthour is out of eligibility at the end of the year. Interior defensive linemen Zion Logue, Warren Brinson, and Nazir Stackhouse were all acknowledged this past Saturday for senior day.
