Four-star RB Roderick Robinson is officially a Georgia Bulldog
Broderick Robinson flipped his commitment from UCLA to Georgia in November and hasn’t wavered in the six weeks since. Now he’s locked into the Bulldogs 2023 class with the school announcing his signing on Wednesday, the first day of the Early Signing Period.
Robinson hails from San Diego, Calif. where he goes to the same high school attended by NFL Hall of Fame running backs Terrell Davis, a former UGA standout, and Marcus Allen. Dell McGee spearheaded Robinson’s recruitment.
“I just loved everything they had going on at Georgia, from the brotherhood to the way the coaches interacted with all of the players,” Robinson told On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons. “And then the education is what set it off for me. In the SEC, you’re playing at the highest level against the best competition, and I feel like that gets you ready for the NFL. The coaching staff was just so genuine and the players got along with the coaches so well. And the education is top in the country.”
Listed at 6-foot-1 238 pounds, Robinson is the nation’s No. 160 overall prospect and No. 9 running back per the industry-generated On3 Consensus, which gives equal weight to the On3 in-house rankings and three other outlets. Robinson is the No. 11 player in California.
MaxPreps.com named Robinson the California Player of the Year for the 2022 season. He appeared in 14 games as a high school senior where he whiled up 2,378 yards and 37 touchdowns on just 217 carries. That’s over 11 yards per tote. He added 128 receiving yards and two more scores on 12 catches in 2022.

Robinson capped off his high school career with a bang in the California state playoffs. He racked up 399 yards and eight touchdowns in the final two games of the season. That includes a state championship game where he went for 218 yards and four scores en route to victory.
There’s plenty yet to be determined when it comes to Georgia’s offensive backfield in 2023. The Bulldogs have three running backs who are draft eligible after the 2022 season. Kenny McIntosh is a true senior with a year of eligibility left because of COVID-19 and it’s impact on the 2020 season. Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards are true juniors with two years left.
True freshmen Branson Robinson and Andrew Paul, are the only ball carriers who can be counted on to be around this time next season, but even that isn’t even a given considering the transfer portal. Paul has missed all of the 2022 season after suffering a torn ACL in preseason camp.
With Robinson in the fold, Georgia could have as few as three running backs heading into spring drills or as many as six. Seeing as how the Bulldogs worked hard to get another running back in this class, a long look at the NCAA’s student-athlete transfer portal is possible in the coming months. The Bulldogs will aim for at least five scholarship running backs by the time the 2023 season begins.
