ATLANTA, Ga. — Georgia may not have looked like the No. 1 team during the first two quarters of its 34-3 win over Clemson, but it finished the game like a team on a mission. The Bulldogs got 278 yards and two scores from senior quarterback Carson Beck and 83 yards and a score from true freshman running back Nate Frazier on 11 carries. He also had a catch for 24 yards.

The Bulldog defense started the season on a heater, holding veteran Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik to 142 yards and an interception on 18 of 29 passing. The Tigers entered the fourth quarter with just 139 yards of total offense.

The first half was a bit of a snooze fest with the teams combining for eight punts. Georgia picked up a pair of field goals from sophomore kicker Peyton Woodring. One of those was a career long from 55 yards out to give Georgia a 6-0 lead and that’s how the first half would end.

Georgia took the game over in the second half and it started with its opening drive. The Bulldogs needed just six plays to go 75 yards with Beck connecting with transfer wideout Colbie Young for the score from seven yards out. That staked Georgia to a 13-0 lead after the PAT.
