The world now knows when the nation’s No. 1 inside linebacker, Justin Williams, will come off the board.

Williams, ranked as a Five-Star Plus prospect in the Class of 2024, confirmed his plans with On3’s Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons to announce where he’ll take his talents on June 24 on the On3 YouTube Channel.

A product of Conroe, Texas’ Oak Ridge High School, Williams will choose between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Oregon Ducks.

“It’s pretty tough because they’re both great programs, and the coaches are like family to me,” he told Simmons of making the call. “I would say with Oregon, every time I go out there it’s like home. With Georgia, they’re the No. 1 program in the nation; who wouldn’t want to go play there?”

The relationship has long been building between the Bulldogs and Williams.

“I went there as a freshman for a camp. I always said that I loved Georgia, just the vibe and the atmosphere,” Williams said. “You feel it as soon as you step on campus. So I went there as a freshman and always liked it, I was just really waiting for the offer. I feel like it has always stayed true to what it is.”

His Oak Ridge teammate, four-star defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, is currently on the commitment list for the Bulldogs in the Class of 2024.

Justin Williams ranks as the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking.

On3 Scouting Report on Justin Williams

Rangy linebacker with elite speed that makes him a near prototype at the position. Measured in at around 6-foot-2, 210 pounds prior to his senior season. Added very good weight as a junior. Owns plus length for the position with arms a shad under 33 inches. The fastest top linebacker in the combine setting in 2024. Ran an absurd electronically-timed 4.44 40-yard dash, 4.39 short shuttle and jumped a 9-foot-10 broad jump during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season. Backed that up on the track with a stellar 11.01 second mark in the 100 meters. Transfers that high-end athleticism over to the field. Originally a safety, he to linebacker full-time as a junior and had a very productive season, notching 105 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. Lines up as a mike backer for his high school. Shows the ability to stack and shed incoming blockers. Excels bringing down ball players from sideline to sideline and in the backfield. Flashes an elite first step and ability to close. Draws on his experience as a safety to aid in coverage and playing in space. Will need to continue adding mass and strength. A strong tackler in his first year as a linebacker but can improve the pop in his hands and overall play strength. Flashes considerable upside given his high-end combination of athleticism, length and range. – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings on Justin Williams
