Ole Miss Injury Report: Rebels likely down important pair of receivers
It’s an extended injury report for Ole Miss on Wednesday night as the SEC shared its first availability update of the week. The 16th-ranked Rebels have 26 players in total listed including their leading rusher, leading receiver and several other major contributors.
On the offensive side of the ball, Ole Miss will be without running backs Henry Parrish Jr. and Logan Diggs. Parrish, who transferred from Miami this past offseason, is first on the team in attempts (130), yards (678) and rushing touchdowns (10). He went down with a serious leg injury in the team’s win over Arkansas last weekend and was left off of the depth chart released this week. Diggs on the other hand was injured in preseason camp and yet to make his Ole Miss debut after transferring from LSU.
Listed as co-starters for the Georgia game were Ulysses Bentley, Matt Jones and Domonique Thomas, although Jones also finds his name on the injury report. Ole Miss’ third-leading rusher with quarterback Jaxson Dart sandwiched in between him and Parrish, Jones is listed as doubtful.
As if the hits to the run game weren’t enough, the Rebels’ nation-leading passing game could also be down several stars. Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins are categorized as doubtful while Cayden Lee is questionable. Like Diggs, Izaiah Hartrup has yet to appear in a game this season and is listed as out.
Harris, Lee and Watkins all being dinged up accounts for the top three receivers this season for Ole Miss. Harris leads the SEC in receiving with 59 catches and 987 yards, scoring six times. Having only played in seven contests, that’s good for 141 yards per game. Meanwhile, Lee finds himself just outside the league’s top-10 at No. 11 averaging 68.3 yards per game (36 catches, 615 yards, 1 touchdown) and Watkins is inside the top-10 having slightly less production than his teammate but in one fewer game (25 catches, 549 yards, 7 touchdowns). Watkins found the end zone five times and accounted for 254 receiving yards last time out in a 63-31 Ole Miss win over Arkansas on Saturday.

Offensive linemen Jayden Williams and Caleb Warren are also listed as doubtful. The two combined for 59 career starts in 72 contests entering this season Williams started the first four games of this season and has missed the last five while Warren has played in the last four, not starting any so far this year.
The names aren’t only on offense either. A few notable ones on defense that are listed include defensive linemen JJ Pegues and Jared Ivey as questionable. On a team that ranks first in the country for tackles for loss (94.0) and sacks (41.0), Pegues ranks second with 10.5 TFLs and 2.5 sacks (fifth) while Ivey is fifth with 7.5 TFLS and 5.0 sacks (third).
