PHOTOS: Georgia holds practice in Miami prior to Orange Bowl
MIAMI, Fla. — Georgia hosted its first practice in South Florida on Wednesday, three days prior to playing in the Orange Bowl against No. 5 Florida State. The Bulldogs were spirited in their ways and went through what was looking like nothing short of a normal practice. Below are a few photos of the action as captured by DawgsHQ.
Georgia cornerbacks were a position worth watching on Wednesday. Julian Humphrey (12 – black jersey) was going through drills with the group, as was Daniel Harris (15 – white jersey) after he announced intentions to enter the transfer portal earlier this week.
New defensive backs coach Donte Williams was also out at practice dressed from head to toe in Georgia gear. It’s not the first time we’ve seen a new coach working with the team during bowl prep. If you recall, former offensive line coach Matt Luke did so prior to the 2019 Sugar Bowl against Baylor, as did Will Muschamp, an analyst at the time, in 2020 for the Peach Bowl against Cincinnati.
A large portion of the viewing period saw the wide receivers working routes with the quarterbacks against the defensive backs. Seen above are the likes of Dillon Bell (86), Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint (1), Dominic Lovett (6) and Tyler Williams (10), plus their signal caller Carson Beck (15).

Ryan Puglisi and a few of the Georgia incoming freshmen were in attendance at practice on Wednesday. Vanderbilt transfer London Humphreys (7 – middle) and fellow wide receiver Nitro Tuggle (7 – bottom) also are pictured. The quarterback (11 – top) and receivers are joined by the likes of Ellis Robinson, Justin Williams, Jaden Reddell, Joseph Jonah-Ajonye and Chris Cole, among others, on the trip.
Those weren’t the only newcomers that were out there either. Pictured below is defensive back Ondre Evans (white jersey) and wide receiver Sacovie White (red jersey), and another shot of Puglisi.
Georgia will host practice again on Thursday with media viewing periods expected. The Bulldogs take on Florida State this Saturday at HardRock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. at 4:00 p.m. ET.
