After a wild June, perhaps there were thoughts that Georgia would have a calmer July? Those were quickly dispelled, with the Bulldogs adding to both the 2025 and 2026 cycles over the course of the final month before football gets in gear.

How did it shake out? What didn’t go the way of the Dawgs? Where does it go next?

Let’s look back — and ahead — on it all.

A steady stream of Georgia additions

Yes, there were a couple of misses along the way, most notably EDGE prospect Bryce Davis and linebacker Christian Gass, but ultimately, the Dawgs landed a number of players they’d long targeted over the course of the process.

The biggest winners of the month and in not particularly close fashion were Travaris Robinson and Donte Williams, both of whom admittedly needed the boost to their rooms.

South Carolina commit Shamari Earls saw the Dawgs turn the heat up in a major way over the course of his official visit, and it didn’t take long for the Virginia-based cornerback to decide that Athens was a better fit than Columbia. Earls is one of the biggest risers of the cycle, all the way up to the No. 19 overall prospect in the On300 rankings. Huge grab for the Dawgs with that one.

He wasn’t alone in the new secondary either, with a pair of fellow four-stars also coming into the fold soon thereafter.

Tennessee-based safety Jaylan Morgan also found his way to Athens when all was said and done, making for an intriguing get with positional versatility. Could he be Georgia’s STAR of the future? Perhaps. Or, it just might be…

Fellow four-star safety Rashad Johnson out of South Sumter High, who brings some excellent length to the spot and had the Dawgs clamoring after a strong camp in May.

While Todd Robinson had been holding down the secondary alone, Georgia looks to be well loaded moving forward with possibly more to come, but we’ll get to that shortly.

Elsewhere, Stacy Searels continued a nice haul, with the commitment of likely future center Cortez Smith out of Parkview. While this one wasn’t a surprise, Smith should still be considered a strong get for maintaining the future of the Georgia offensive line.

What was unexpected, however, was the addition of three-star defensive lineman Jayden Jamal Hanne of California-by-way-of-Germany. With a 6-foot-5, 270 pound frame, Hanne has only been at the game for two years, but his raw ability and work in front of the Georgia made him an easy take for teams across the country, including the likes of Texas, Alabama, and Texas A&M.

And it wasn’t just the Class of 2025 that made some major headway, with the Dawgs adding a couple of defensive backs in 2026 over the course of July, as well.

Fellow four-star cornerbacks Jontavius Wyman, out of Jonesboro, and Dominick Kelly, out of IMG Academy, rounded out the month for Georgia. Wyman was considered a Dawgs lean, while Kelly surprised many with a flip from Southern California.

Overall, there was plenty to love about the month that was from the Georgia perspective, especially in the secondary.

What’s ahead?

We’ll be watching out for decisions from offensive lineman Juan Gaston, defensive back Jontae Gilbert, and likely Damola Ajidahun in the near future, though the latter has yet to lock in a date.

Meanwhile, eyes will continue to be laser focused on the likes of Justus Terry and Elijah Griffin, which is no large change from the past few months.

Additionally, with the recent passing of additional scholarships for football, there’s plenty of action still to come in the Class of 2025.

Stay tuned to the Dawg Walk and DawgsHQ for all the latest.
