One of the nation’s top wideouts, Rico Flores, Jr., has narrowed his recruitment down in a major way, and the Georgia Bulldogs are firmly in the mix for his services.

Flores shared the news of his final three options with On3.com on Thursday afternoon.

Georgia finds itself along with the likes of Ohio State and Notre Dame when it comes to the top schools of the nation’s No. 233 overall prospect in the nation per the On3 Consensus.

His current decision date is set for July 3.

A 6-foot-1, 190-pound rising senior ranks as the nation’s No. 35 overall receiver for the Class of 2023, as well as being the No. 15 prospect in California for the class.

As for why the Dawgs made the cut, he was clear in his response to On3.

“The environment the university is in and what it as a whole has to offer stands out,” Flores said. “Also the staff is amazing, and on top of that me and coach BMac [Bryan McClendon] already have a great relationship.”

The sentiments on McClendon were echoed previously when Flores spoke to DawgsHQ about his last visit to Athens.

“(What stood out about him was) how transparent he is,” Flores said at that time. “When I’d ask questions about certain things, (he was open). I just liked the vibe he gave me.”

It’s a relationship that’s been building for some time now.

“(My connection with him) is great, and it started way back when he was at Oregon,” Flores said of Georgia’s receivers coach. “He’s a real, true dude, and it seems like he has genuine love for me.”

Can Georgia pull him across the country, though?

“I feel like it could be a fit for me because I feel can easily adjust to that,” he told DawgsHQ earlier this month.

Georgia currently leads for Rico Flores’ services according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 42.3-percent chance of signing him.
