Robert Griffin III predicts a Stetson Bennett-Todd Monken reunion
Robert Griffin III has quite the take on Stetson Bennett IV’s NFL Draft destination. No matter which number follows the former Dawg QB’s Draft round, Griffin thinks it will be a familiar situation.
Because in this particular scenario, Todd Monken is once again Stetson Bennett’s offensive coordinator.
The ESPN analyst and former Heisman Trophy winner reportedly believes a Baltimore draft pick could be in the cards for Stetson Bennett.
“My bold prediction is that the Baltimore Ravens select Stetson Bennett in the NFL Draft. Lamar Jackson is unsure if he is going to be there in the offseason with the franchise tag,” Griffin said.
Could Bennett be an option even if Lamar Jackson stays in Baltimore or gets traded?
Mel Kiper Jr. listed Stetson Bennett as the 8th-best quarterback prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft.
He also projected Bennett would land in the third round as a draft pick. Bennett won the Manning Award as the 2022-23 season’s best quarterback.
No Manning Award winner ever got drafted after that round.
Still, Bennett is not widely regarded as a top quarterback prospect in this year’s draft.
Should the Ravens pick him, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that he’s more of a backup / insurance option than ‘the quarterback of the future,’ in the franchise’s eyes.
Apparently, Robert Griffin III thinks more of Bennett than that.
“You bring in a quarterback who is very familiar with Todd Monken because he was just his OC with the Georgia Bulldogs in back-to-back national championships,” Griffin said.

One factor that could keep the Ravens from picking Bennett
DawgsHQ Senior Editor Jake Rowe had an interesting note on one of our recent episodes of The Georgia Show.
It’s no secret that Bennett and Monken respected each other’s capabilities.
But they also bumped heads quite a bit. That’s on the record from them, not just DawgsHQ. There was apparently a reason why it worked better for Monken to be in the box and Bennett on the field.
They needed a buffer in the heat of the moment, and obviously, it worked well.
That isn’t to say that Monken and Bennett couldn’t be pros and work together again.
Robert Griffin III isn’t wrong in his assessment that a little bit of familiarity could go a long way for the former Dawgs duo in Baltimore.
But that familiarity could also be a factor that keeps the two apart when draft day rolls around.
