WATCH: New Georgia RB pledge Roderick Robinson in action
Georgia picked up commitment No. 21 of the 2023 class on Monday and it was at a position of need. Lincoln (San Diego, Calif.) running back Roderick Robinson II flipped from UCLA to Georgia, becoming the first tailback in the Bulldogs’ 2023 haul.
At 6-foot-1 238 pounds, Roderick Robinson is rated as a four-star prospect by the On3 Consensus. He’s the nation’s No. 246 overall prospect and No. 14 running back per the On3 Consensus, which takes into account the rankings of three other outlets. The consensus also sees him as the No. 17 prospect in California.
Roderick Robinson decided to flip his commitment fresh off an official visit to Georgia for the Auburn game. That visit seemed to make all the difference.
“I just loved everything they had going on at Georgia, from the brotherhood to the way the coaches interacted with all of the players,” Robinson told On3’s Chad Simmons. “And then the education is what set it off for me. In the SEC, you’re playing at the highest level against the best competition, and I feel like that gets you ready for the NFL. The coaching staff was just so genuine and the players got along with the coaches so well. And the education is top in the country.”

Georgia helped itself by showing Roderick Robinson the impact he could have in Athens. The Bulldogs piled up 292 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns on 39 carries against the Tigers. True freshman running back Branson Robinson led the way with 12 totes for 98 yards and a touchdown. Junior running back Daijun Edwards was next in line with 12 carries for 83 yards but he had a team-leading three touchdowns on the day.
Roderick Robinson will join Georgia’s two tailback signees from the 2022 class, Andrew Paul and Branson Robinson, as the ball carriers of the future in the Classic City. Georgia will also continue to recruit running backs in the 2023 class with three of the five tailbacks on the current roster draft eligible after the current season.
