The Georgia High School Football Game of the Week for me this week is Cartersville at Cedartown. They’re both 8-0 and the Friday night matchup will get plenty of attention.

That game is on Peachtree Sports Network Friday night at 8 PM EST. It’s the battle for bragging rights between former Georgia star Nick Chubb and former Clemson star Trevor Lawrence.

The No. 19 Purple Hurricanes have hovered around the back end of the top 25 all season and have a chance to make another move this week ahead of the postseason. Cedartown is the No. 29 team in the state this week.

Tale of the Tape: Cartersville at Cedartown

2027 Cartersville linebacker Cole Crawford has a Georgia offer under his belt. Georgia extended an offer to Crawford on Feb. 1. His feelings about the in-state SEC program have only gotten stronger since then.

On offense though, Cartersville is cooking. Cartersville is scoring nearly 38 points per game in 2024. Georgia Tech commit Jamauri Brice is a star for Cartersville.

Cedartown has as a player that was once committed to Georgia in 2025 defensive back Tae Harris. He committed to Clemson on March 18. The one-time Georgia pledge has continued to be pursued by other programs, but the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder took to X in September to cement his status as a future Clemson Tiger.

On3 Massey Prediction: 28-21 win for Cartersville.
