Georgia lands its signal caller for 2025 in four-star QB Ryan Montgomery
The Georgia Bulldogs have their quarterback for the Class of 2025, with four-star signal caller Ryan Montgomery of Findlay High School in Findlay, Ohio announcing his pledge on Wednesday.
Ranked as the nation’s No. 186 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, the 6-foot-2 and a half, 215 pound rising senior becomes Georgia’s eighth commitment of the cycle. Montgomery also ranks as the No. 14 quarterback in the class and No. 9 prospect in the state of Ohio by the same metric.
Montgomery chose the Bulldogs over strong pursuits from the likes of South Carolina and Florida.
“They’re the standard in college football now,” Montgomery told On3’s Chad Simmons of Georgia in mid-March. “Everybody is trying to get to where they’re at. Obviously back to back national championships. I know going there, I’m going to get developed to the NFL and that’s my ultimate goal,” Going there under Coach Smart, he runs a great program. And it doesn’t matter they were back-to-back championships three years ago, their practice was the most intense I’ve ever seen. I know going there I’d compete against the best each a every day and that would only make me better. Coach Smart, Coach Bobo, I love a lot and would be super comfortable being around them for the next 3-5 years.”
While there may have been clearer paths to playing time else where, Montgomery heads to Athens knowing the battle that is ahead for him. In fact, he relishes the opportunity to compete in it.

“No matter where I go, my mentality is to go compete for the starting job and get the starting job,” Montgomery told DawgsHQ’s Jeremy Johnson in late January. “That’s going to be super hard to do as a true freshman at a place like Georgia. That is going to be my mentality. I know that if Georgia ends up being the place, if I don’t start year one or two, I’d be perfectly fine knowing that I’m going to get developed and get those practice reps and when my number is called and the time is right, I’m going to go out there and perform really well.”
Ryan Montgomery will join a quarterback room that is expected to have Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi in 2025. Currently, the Bulldogs also hold the commitment of 2026 No. 14 overall prospect Jared Curtis.
The Bulldogs had earlier pursued now-Missouri commit Matt Zollers and USC commit Julian ‘Juju’ Lewis in the Class of 2025, as well.
