5-star EDGE Samuel M'Pemba commits to Georgia
Samuel M’Pemba has been a top priority for the Georgia staff for the better part of a year.
The Bulldogs got him on campus in the spring. Then again over the summer. The five-star EDGE out of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy was back in Athens for a game in September. Notre Dame, Miami, and Tennessee were all considered contenders at one point, but Kirby Smart, Chidera Uzo-Diribe, and the staff at Georgia made sure the No. 24 prospect in the On3 Consensus knew he was a priority.
After taking multiple visits — including an official visit last month — and feeling comfortable around those in Athens, M’Pemba has committed to the Bulldogs.
He said the key moment in his recruitment came when Smart hired Uzo-Diribe as the outline linebackers coach.
“Right after he got it, he hit me up, talking about coming up there,” M’Pemba said. “I just started building my relationship with him and Kirby.”

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound defender has been leaning towards Georgia for months, with the Volunteers the only real threat down the stretch.
But M’Pemba said he knew Georgia was the school for him a couple of months ago but held off on making a commitment to make sure he was 100% confident he was making the right decision.
“I feel like they’re definitely developing into the best program in the country,” M’Pemba said.
After seeing the Bulldogs in person multiple times this year and watching their development of elite pass-rushers, he is excited about his future with the No. 1 team in the country.
“I feel like Georgia got a great development staff. The players I’ll be playing, they all got same mentality, just want to be better,” M’Pemba said. “We all want to have the same dreams accomplished.”
