Rodrigo Blankenship won one ring kicking for the SEC Champion Georgia Bulldogs in 2017. He could’ve won another one after giving Georgia the lead in overtime of the National Championship, until…

Well, it’s not important.

Hot Rod wouldn’t pick up another ring during his time in Athens.

So I don’t blame Rod and his wife for seizing the opportunity to take care of some unfinished business this past weekend.

Logan Harrell attended and graduated from Georgia just like Rodrigo did. If you’re lucky enough to meet your spouse in the Classic City, then you know how special it is.

You also know how hot this place can get in July. NFL schedules don’t have much wiggle-room, though, so I get it.

I would’ve asked if the House of Payne was available, but hey. More power to my fellow Blankenships.

As I’ve already written, this was already a great weekend for the Georgia Bulldogs. And my colleague Palmer Thombs wrote about another significant milestone involving Rodrigo Blankenship on Sunday.

Just how they planned it, I’m sure.

Rodrigo Blankenship saw his Dawgs win a ring in Indy. Now he returns with a new one, and another shot with the Colts

So he didn’t get a Natty ring while he was in Athens. But this one ain’t bad.

It’s been a special 2022 for Blankenship, who got to see Georgia win the National Championship on his current home turf as a kicker for the Indianapolis Colts.

Blankenship missed most of the 2021 season with a hip injury, but operated as the Colts’ starter at OTAs last month.

He’s 43/51 in his NFL career, dating back to 2020.

As long as he doesn’t miss anniversary dates and birthdays from here on out though, he’ll be fine.
