Georgia players made a splash in Indianapolis with some historically strong performances at the NFL Combine, as our Wes Blankenship pointed out earlier today.

It appears Nick Shook of NFL.com certainly agreed.

Seven Georgia players dotted his All-Combine Team, which was released on Monday afternoon.

Defensive tackle Jordan Davis led the group with what Shook termed “a monster workout and stole the show for the first group Saturday.” Davis topped the NextGen Stats Athleticism Score for defensive linemen with his efforts, as well.

According to his prospect profile on NFL.com, Davis graded out at 6.43, a range which the metrics determine should lead to his being a “good starter within two years”.

He wasn’t alone when it came to Georgia defensive linemen either.

Devonte Wyatt also made Shook’s list, with Shook commenting that “Wyatt showed off the power and speed packed into his 6-foot-3, 304-pound frame and looked to be even more fleet of foot than Davis, completing a Bulldogs DT duo that shined.”

Wyatt’s efforts earned him a grade of 6.35, which metrics suggest point toward “will eventually be a plus starter”.

And another part of that formidable front, edge rusher Travon Walker, earned his place on the list, as well.

Shook kept it simple in his evaluation, calling Walker “an athletic freak” before diving in on his numbers. As with Wyatt, he landed with a 6.33 grade, good for “will eventually be a plus starter” expectations.

In the middle of the defense, linebacker Channing Tindall also found himself on the list.

Shook noted Tindall “repeatedly popped up in my notes throughout the workout”, and with a grade of 6.24, the NFL metrics expect him to be an “eventual average starter”.

Running back James Cook, linebacker Quay Walker, and safety Lewis Cine, meanwhile, earned honorable mentions for their efforts in Indianapolis.

We believe those efforts will pay dividends for the Dawgs in a major way beyond just this week.
