Several Georgia assistant coaches get pay raises

Seven Georgia assistant coaches got raises after the 2023 season according to information obtained by DawgsHQ via an open records request. The list includes both coordinators and strength and conditioning coordinator Scott Sinclair can be added to it.

Mike Bobo, after making $1.02 million in his first year back as the offensive coordinator, will make $1.4 million in 2024. The former Georgia quarterback is in the second season of his second stint as the Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator and he was was a finalist for the Broyles Award in 2023. That is given annually to the nation’s top assistant coach.

Defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann got a raise of nearly $100,000. He made $1.902 million in 2023 and will make $2 million in his third season calling the Bulldog defense. Georgia had the nation’s No. 5 scoring defense in 2024 at 15.6 points per game.

Defensive line coach Tray Scott sees his pay raise $200,000 going into his eighth season with the team. He’ll make $1.202 million after making $1.02 million a season ago. Georgia tight ends coach Todd Hartley will make $875,000 after earning $852,000 last season.

Georgia offensive line coach Stacey Searels got a raise that matches Hartley’s. He made $752,000 last season and will now make $775,000. Outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe‘s pay rises over $100,000. After making $502,000 in his second season with the program, he’ll make $625,000 in his third.

Sinclair is now making $600,000 after making $552,000. He has served as the leader of the Georgia strength program since Smart took over in 2016.

DawgsHQ has also obtained salary information for Kirk Benedict, who was promoted to special teams coordinator when Scott Cochran left the program earlier this year. Benedict will make $400,000 as an off-field staffer.
