Stetson Bennett probably wrote a better Mother's Day note than you

Stetson Bennett shared a wonderful note to his mom on Mother’s Day.

One of those that makes you just say, ‘Great. I hope my mom / the mother of my children doesn’t see this.’

Personally, I keep those sentiments off of social media these days.

Like the SEC, It Just Means More (for my family, anyway).

If you haven’t previously discussed it, I don’t recommend skipping that next birthday or Mother’s Day or Father’s Day post about the people in your life.

For many of you, that could spell big trouble. And/or possibly no dinner.

But I’ll admit I did hit a quick scroll last night before bed, and I saw the post Stetson Bennett dedicated to his mama.

Here it is, in case you missed it:

Don’t worry if Stetson Bennett made you look bad. A couple Alabama DB’s and much of the SEC know how you feel

The main thing moms want to know is that they’re loved.

The other thing moms love to feel is that their dedication to their families gets noticed. Tip of the cap to Stetson Bennett for understanding that.

I didn’t look it up, but I believe he is almost 30 years old. As a result, he possesses much more wisdom than many of his other teammates.

I really have no idea what most of the specifics in his letter are about, with all of the games that Denise Bennett has gets to attend.

But anyone in a family of multiple children probably knows that moms have a special way of seemingly transporting themselves to multiple places at one time.

It’s just what they do.

How they do it, I don’t believe anyone but moms will ever know.

As Bennett writes, he’s proud to have a mom who modeled that for him.

He may not be the National Championship starting quarterback of Georgia’s football team right now without it.

Another Bennett walk-on heading Georgia’s way

One quick reminder while the Bennett family commands our attention:

Luke Bennett, Stetson’s younger brother, committed to Georgia football as a preferred walk-on earlier this spring.

The younger Bennett currently has no star rating as a high school prospect. But he’s fast, and scored eight touchdowns on 33 catches and more than 600 yards at Pierce County high school.

Mama Bennett may have a lot more to cheer for Between the Hedges if Luke can follow Stetson’s footsteps and shock the world.

She’ll probably have a lot to cheer for regardless.

That’s just what mamas do.
