Stetson Bennett set as one of headliners in launch of college trading cards
Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett is set to be one of the headliners in a launch of college trading cards from Topps. It’s just another way in which Bennett, and other college athletes, are able to benefit from the implementation of rules that allow student-athletes to profit off of their name, image and likeness.
The agreement between student-athletes like Bennett and Fanatics, the parent company for Topps, includes both exclusive and non-exclusive co-branded trading card products, incorporating official university trademarks in the process. Topps secured multi-year exclusive rights with more than 35 institutions including Georgia. Compensation amounts have not been disclosed with that depending on several varying factors.
“Fanatics has been closely monitoring the ever-evolving NIL landscape,” Derek Eiler, Executive Vice President, Fanatics College, said in a statement. “We felt this was the perfect time to launch multiple, strategic college trading card programs that will allow schools and current student-athletes to create new levels of direct engagement with fans across hundreds of the top programs nationwide.
“There are tremendous opportunities for this untapped area of the hobby and to expand further across the collegiate sports landscape.”
Bennett, valued at $703,000 according to the On3 NIL Valuations, is considered to be Georgia’s third most valuable player behind Brock Bowers and Jalen Carter. Bennett ranks No. 26 overall in the NIL 100 and No. 18 in College Football.

Other athletes a part of the launch include Alabama’s Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, former Auburn quarterback and Oregon transfer Bo Nix – who Georgia will open its season against on September 3rd – as well as USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
On the field, Bennett helped lead Georgia to its first National Championship in over four decades this past January. After starting 12 games for the Bulldogs and throwing for 2,862 yards and 29 touchdowns – including a combined 537 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions in a pair of MVP performances during the College Football Playoffs – Bennett will be back in Athens for his final year of eligibility this fall and is once again expected to lead the Georgia offense.
