Texas is hoping to have it’s leading receiver when it hosts Georgia on Saturday. The No. 1 Longhorns finished off an impressive 34-3 win over Oklahoma in The Red River Rivalry on Saturday without the services of junior wideout Isaiah Bond. In the team’s first injury/availability report, the Peach State native is listed as questionable.

Bond has appeared in all six games this season, hauling in 21 passes for 369 yards and three scores. He is tied for the team lead in receptions and touchdowns. Bond is by himself atop the receiving yardage list.

The Buford high school product is in his first season at Texas. He spent the first two at Alabama and played a key role in the Crimson Tide making the College Football Playoff. He caught 48 passes for 668 yards and four touchdowns. One of those scores saved Alabama’s playoff hopes as Bond hauled in a 31-yard touchdown on 4th and goal to lift the Crimson Tide over Auburn in the Iron Bowl.

The very next week Bond caught five passes for 79 yards against Georgia in the SEC Championship game. The big one in that game was a 22-yard grab on 4th and 4 that should have been reviewed. Replay showed that the ball hit the turf whole moving in Bond’s arms, but the play stood without a review and the Crimson Tide went on to score a touchdown two plays later to take a 17-7 lead.

The rest of Texas’ injury report…

Everyone else listed on Texas’ injury report is out. The list includes three running backs, CJ Baxter, Christian Clark, and Velton Gardner. Offensive lineman Trevor Goosby is also listed as out along with Derek Williams, a starting safety who has missed two of the last three games.

Baxter and Clark went down with season-ending injuries during the preseason. Gardner was added via the transfer portal after those injuries took place. Gardner hasn’t been available for any of the Longhorns’ SEC contests this season. Goosby has appeared in two games this season.

Georgia’s injury situation…

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs list three players as out, one as questionable, and two as probable in the first report. Georgia has two running backs out, Branson Robinson (knee) and Roderick Robinson (toe). Branson Robinson suffered a sprained MCL against Mississippi State last week and Roderick Robinson hasn’t played this season.

Senior linebacker Smael Mondon, who has missed the past two games, is also out. Senior right guard Tate Ratledge has been upgraded to questionable for the game after missing the past three games with a high-ankle sprain and a sprained MCL.

Junior center Jared Wilson and sophomore defensive lineman Jordan Hall are both listed as probable. They were questionable this time last week but they were off the report all together by the time Georgia kicked off against Mississippi State. Neither played in the game.
