The Georgia Show: Branching Out in the Transfer Portal, where the Dawgs need to focus
Georgia Branching Out In the Transfer Portal
You know we had to kick things off with the big news from Sunday, which was the commitment of the Branch brothers, Zachariah and Zion. A talented wide receiver ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect in the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings, Zachariah was a dangerous special teams threat for the USC Trojans during his time in Los Angeles and, though he experienced a down year receiving in 2024, was considered one of the top high school wideouts in the country and made defenses respect where he was on the field. The Dawgs will be banking on the same as they look to redo the wide receiver room with a major infusion of talent heading into 2025. Zion, meanwhile, was a top 100 prospect in the country in his high school career, and while that hadn’t necessarily translated immediately for the Trojans, he brings some much needed depth to the safety spot for Georgia and still possesses immense upside that Travaris Robinson will be hoping to bring out of him in Athens.
Elsewhere, we dove in on the news of Jaden Rashada and Anthony Evans choosing to take their talents to the portal.
Rowe looks back on the Sugar Bowl
We broke down Georgia’s season ending loss to the Fighting Irish on Thursday night with Rusty Mansell (you can catch that here), but what about our man Jake Rowe, who took it in from the Superdome? He looks back on what went wrong for the Bulldogs in New Orleans, and it’s not a particularly short list. From offensive line struggles to general weirdness, it wasn’t the outing anyone had hoped for, but in some ways, it was indicative of who these Dawgs were all season long.
