The Georgia Show

The latest episode of The Georgia Show starts out with something we neglected earlier in the week, recruiting. Rusty Mansell and I begin the show by discussing what’s going on with UGA at the all-important quarterback position.

We’ve said numerous times that Georgia is going all out in its efforts to land Jared Curtis, but Mansell wants everyone to understand, again, that it’s not Curtis or bust. The Bulldogs have offered several quarterback prospects and they’re recruiting those guys until they get their own situation settled.

As we’ve learned in years past, those situations are never really settled until a player signs on the dotted line. Curtis will decide between Georgia and Oregon come May 5. As of right now, it looks like he’s the next domino to fall. But what would happen if Bowe Bentley decides that he wants to be a Bulldog before then?

Next we get to the team side of things where Georgia is having an up-and-down spring. What else is new? That’s the nature of spring practice. The offense started out slow and got slapped around a little in the team’s first spring scrimmage. It then rebounded and had a very good day on Tuesday. Kirby Smart is also trying to get his 10th team in Athens to sprint across the finish line.

Based on what we heard passing the practice field on Tuesday, it sounds like he doesn’t have to worry about that with freshman running back Bo Walker. The former Cedar Grove standout has had a very good first spring in Athens and has set himself up to be a significant part of the offense come fall. We also have the latest on our partnerships with The Georgia Rodeo and Redstone Market and Butcher. There will be two opportunities to some hang out with members of the DawgsHQ staff and maybe pick up a cool souvenir or two. Check out the latest episode for details.
