The Georgia Show: Three Dawg night in the transfer portal

An absolute monster of a Sunday night for the Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia put the transfer portal world on notice, sending shockwaves with three massive pickups on Sunday evening. First off, top EDGE target Elo Modozie made his intentions known, and the former Army pass rusher needed only a singular visit to the Classic City to know where home was for his next stop. With outstanding length and production to boot in his sophomore season with the Golden Knights, Modozie is just what the doctor ordered for Chidera Uzo-Diribe and company when it comes to pushing the pocket. The hits didn’t stop there, though, as Modozie saw a fellow defender jump aboard soon thereafter in the form of Miami transfer Joshua Horton. A product of Fairburn’s Langston Hughes High, Horton has a frame that add some major versatility to the defensive front when he’s able to find the field, and he’ll likely have time to develop in that fashion, which should be all the more advantageous for the Bulldogs. Lastly, the addition of running back Josh McCray provides some much needed experience and depth into a backfield that was deplete at times last season. The Dawgs don’t look to be accepting their fate in that regard for next season, adding a punishing runner in McCray who put up some strong numbers in Illinois’ bowl game to end the season. We break down each addition and how they fit into the fold for the Bulldogs in the end.
Are the Dawgs done in the portal?
Despite the additions, Kirby Smart doesn’t leave any stone unturned when it comes to adding help. Is Beau Atkinson out of the running or could the Bulldogs still find themselves on the receiving end of his ample talents? Which other positions might see some further attention as things continue throughout the spring? We offer up our picks on potential spots that may continue bearing to watch, especially if the Dawgs find the right fits.
Georgia baseball hits the skids…again
On the diamond, the Dawgs continue to be Jekyll and Hyde in the latter stages of the regular season. Jake Rowe takes a look at what Wes Johnson and the boys need to do to right the ship and ensure that they’re playing host to the Super Regional when the times ultimately comes.
