The Masters field of Georgia golfers: Odds and what to watch for
The 2022 Masters field includes six former Georgia golf products.
It would have been seven, if Harris English didn’t have to WD due to hip surgery.
That leaves six other Bulldog golfers to contend with Augusta National’s deceptively beautiful teeth.
Only one of them has been able to win those coveted green threads before – and he’s done it twice.
Can he do it again, or will another Georgia golf star bring more bite than bark to the course this week?
It is the Year of the Dawg, after all…
Brian Harman – odds to win Masters in 2022: +10000
Brian Harman finished (T12) in 2021 and gave himself another qualification for this year’s Masters.
If he isn’t chasing turkeys, Harman is chasing birdies. The lefty has three Masters appearances on his resume, and made the cut twice.
His low round (out of ten) is 69. He has two other rounds under par in those attempts.
Russell Henley – has best odds out of all Georgia golf names on this list to win the 2022 Masters (+6500)
Russell Henley may be the most technically sound among his Georgia golf peers on this list.
If he wants to measure up to these odds at the Masters in 2022, Henley will need to put four solid rounds together at Augusta National.
He shows the ability to do that in flashes – with eight rounds under par in 18 attempts. Henley also knows the brutal lows of Augusta National, posting an 81 in his worst round there.
This Dawg from Macon is playing some of his best golf right now, though. He’s currently #42 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Kevin Kisner – local Dawg with +8000 odds to win the Green Jacket
Aiken, S.C. legend Kevin Kisner knows Augusta National as well as any of these Dawgs.
He just finished runner-up in the World Golf Championship Match Play in Austin a couple weeks ago.
This ain’t match play, but as Kiz says, this ain’t no hobby, either.
Out of six appearances, Kisner’s made the cut four times.

Sepp Straka – first-timer in for an eye-opening experience at 2022 Masters (+25000)
The Vienna-born Bulldog makes his Masters debut in 2022.
That’s Vienna, Austria – not Vienna, Georgia.
Horton Smith and Gene Sarazen won their Masters debuts. That was back in 1934 and 1935, respectively – the first two Masters ever.
Fuzzy Zoeller won his first Masters in 1979.
That’s it. Those are the only guys to win it in their first attempts.
Best of luck, Sepp.
Hudson Swafford – worst odds of all Georgia golf alums to win the Masters (+40000)
This is just Swafford’s second Masters appearance.
He missed the cut last year in his debut, with a low round of 73 and a high of 83.
Hopefully he took good notes for this go-round.
Swafford won at at La Quinta Country Club in January, so there is some positive momentum for Swafford this year. He currently ranks 79th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Bubba Watson – going for third Masters victory on 10-year anniversary of miracle shot on 10th hole (+7000)
It’s been 10 years since Bubba Watson’s shot from the pine straw on 10.
Watson won his first Masters in 2012, and his second in 2014.
These are still Bubba’s only two Major victories to date – so if there’s ever a week for Watson to get dangerous on a Major stage… it’s this one.
