Is Tom Crean a Harbaugh operative? We took a tongue-in-cheek look at the former Georgia basketball coach’s part in the Todd Monken-to-Baltimore move.

According to a report from the Athens Banner-Herald’s Marc Weiszer, Crean helped ‘get the ball rolling’ for Todd Monken to leave Georgia and accept the offensive coordinator role with the Baltimore Ravens.

Crean is married to John and Jim Harbaugh’s sister, Joani.

Obviously, the Creans’ friendship with Todd and Terri Monken isn’t the only reason Georgia’s former offensive coordinator got attention from the NFL. But the connection certainly didn’t hurt, according to John Harbaugh.

“Joani just tells me, ‘You’ve got to talk to Todd Monken. He’s amazing. His wife’s amazing. He’s a great coach. We’ve seen what he’s done here at Georgia,'” Harbaugh said at Todd Monken’s introductory press conference with the Ravens.

So after hammering it out on The Georgia Show, we concluded that Tom Crean is not, in fact, trying to sabotage Georgia’s football program.

But I know that won’t stop some of y’all from connecting those dots. And that’s what makes College Sports fandom in the SEC so great.

This was less than 24 hours after Georgia beat TCU to win the National Championship game.

Palmer Thombs joined the show as we learned more about the arrest, and it seems as if Dumas-Johnson turned himself in, made bond, and got released on Tuesday, February 23.

If he hasn’t started already, Jamon Dumas-Johnson likely faces the dreaded ‘we’ll handle that discipline internally’ fate from Kirby Smart.

Choppin’ Wood about CFB rule changes and the White House

We wrapped up the show with our famous weekly Wednesday soap-box segment and chopped some wood about topics that really have us sharpening the proverbial axe.

When it comes to College Football’s proposed rule changes, there is one rule in particular that most people in my Twitter mentions want to change:

Targeting.

Palmer Thombs wants coaches to have an easier schedule. Yes, they make a ton of money! But more and more good ones will take a look at the NFL if the college game doesn’t find some sustainability.

Jake Rowe celebrated some of the best news we’ve heard this week:

It seems like Georgia will actually get an opportunity to visit the White House if it wants to. The back-to-back National Champs earned it.
