Top-60 prospect Troy Bowles will be a Georgia Bulldog
Glenn Schumann is a happy man for the second time in a week, as Georgia is the pick for Consensus No. 57 overall player Troy Bowles.
The No. 2 inside linebacker in the Class of 2023 per the Consensus, Bowles is also the No. 14 player in the state of Florida for the cycle.
Georgia was able to hold off the likes of Oklahoma and Ohio State for his commitment.
At 6-foot, 206-pounds, he is Georgia’s third inside linebacker commit for the Class of 2023, joining fellow four-stars CJ Allen and Raylen Wilson.
Credit is due to the staff in Athens, which made him a priority throughout the process.
“Coach Schumann is really cool and I like coach Smart a lot too. The coaching staff is great there and they always have a great defense,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons following his official visit to Athens. “Georgia has a lot of good things going on there, so I really like what they are doing. The scheme is great and the opportunity is there at Georgia.”

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Of Bowles, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power offered the following scouting report.
“Box linebacker that has the ability to key and diagnose as good as anyone in the country. Son of NFL coach Todd Bowles. Jumped a 5’06” high jump in 2022 and ran 11.73 in the 100m in 2021. Striker that sees the field extremely well and triggers to the ball quickly. Instinctive player that will lay the wood consistently. Plays faster than a watch will have him in the 40 or on the track. More of a box player that can thump and be disruptive in the run game. Lacks size and stature for the position, measuring around 6-feet, 205 pounds going into his senior season. Has some hip stiffness and will need to prove his overall ability to play sideline to sideline at the next level. With his physicality and field awareness he has a high floor and will always be around the football.”
Troy Bowles is the son of current Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles.
