It seems that a few injured Georgia players have a chance to play in the SEC Championship game against Texas on Saturday. According to the league’s official availability report, four Bulldogs who missed the eight-overtime win over Georgia Tech are questionable for the contest and only one player is out.

Most notable among the players listed questionable is junior running back Trevor Etienne, who has missed the last three games with a rib injury. Etienne was Georgia’s leading rusher when he suffered the injury against Florida. He gave it a go in the Bulldogs’ 28-10 loss to Ole Miss but has missed each game since. DawgsHQ reported earlier this week that Etienne was trying to make it back for this game.

Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Christen Miller is also questionable after sustaining a shoulder injury against UMass. The buzz at first suggested that the Cedar Grove High School product would miss the rest of the season but recent murmurs suggest that he might have a chance to return this season. It feels like a long shot but Miller is still in play for Saturday according to Georgia.

Redshirt sophomore tailback Branson Robinson and true freshman position mate Chauncey Bowens are also questionable for this game. Robinson has missed the past six games with a sprained MCL after playing in the first six. Bowens saw action against Tennessee and UMass but sustained a foot injury in the second of those contests and missed the Georgia Tech game.

The only Bulldog out for Saturday’s game is freshman defensive end Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, who will not be returning this season. When Kirby Smart spoke to reporters during the bye week after Georgia beat Texas, he noted that Jonah-Ajonye would miss the rest of the season due to surgery for a lower-extremity injury.

From the Texas side…

Etienne and Miller being questionable is a good thing for Georgia considering neither of those guys were close to playing last Friday. Texas has one player questionable on it’s report and it’s starting left tackle Kelvin Banks. He suffered what appeared to be an ankle injury in the Longhorns physically dominant win over Texas A&M on Saturday.

The Longhorns also list four players as out and just like when the Bulldogs went to Austin earlier this year, three of those players are running backs. CJ Baxter and Christian Clark have been out for the entire season. Velton Gardner hasn’t played since September. Defensive back Derek Williams Jr. was lost for the season against Oklahoma, the week before the Longhorns played Georgia in October.
