Travis Hunter reignites Georgia football talk in the transfer portal

Travis Hunter is on Georgia football’s radar. Let me say it again, with some more context in case you missed it.

Travis Hunter, the former #1 overall high school recruit in the country, is in the transfer portal.

And the Dawgs have another shot to land him.

You ask me, Colorado seems like the obvious choice because his former Jackson State head coach, Deion Sanders, just took the job there.

But if you’re looking for hope that Hunter will go to Georgia – or that he just won’t end up at Colorado – our senior editor, Jake Rowe, explains why that’s the case on the latest episode of The Georgia Show.

On3’s director of recruiting, Chad Simmons, also reported as much.

Is Hunter just trolling all of his non-Colorado, Power 5 suitors once again?

It’s certainly possible.

Not even his high school coaches knew he would stiff-arm Florida State for Jackson State this time a year ago.

Something tells me this one could get more interesting than we think. Make sure you subscribe to The Georgia Show (YouTube / Apple / Spotify) to hear our thoughts.

Hunter isn’t the only familiar face back on Georgia’s radar

Top 2024 quarterback Dylan Raiola once had Georgia among his list of strong recruiting suitors, as well.

Then he committed to Ohio State.

Like Hunter, Raiola also made things interesting heading into National Signing Day week (not that he will sign this week, of course), with his decommitment from the Buckeyes.

Well, Georgia already has once quarterback commit for the class of 2024: On3 4-star Ryan Puglisi.

Could Georgia still end up getting back into the Raiola mix?

Might Puglisi still have some room to grow as a quarterback in this talented 2024 class?

We had a lot of quarterback talk on the show this time around, and it isn’t just about prospects.

There’s some buzz around Carson Beck for his upcoming opportunity as ‘the guy’ in Todd Monken’s offense that should have Georgia Bulldogs fans beaming heading into 2023.

All quiet on the Georgia 2023 signing class front?

Our in-house recruiting expert, Jake Reuse gave us plenty of takes concerning Georgia’s upcoming 2023 signing class.

Ol’ Reuse told us he expects this signing day to be smoother than a Rudolph-led sleigh ride with a jet stream at the big man’s back.

However, there is one late surprise that could see Ol’ Saint Kirby add one more gift to his Bulldog bag of goodies.

Former NC State commit Kyron Jones parted ways with the Wolfpack this week.

If the Dawgs end up with Jones’s commitment, you can thank the persistent presence of Georgia secondary coach / ace recruiter, Fran Brown.

Palmer Thombs gave Mike White’s Georgia basketball Dawgs their due after that win over Notre Dame, and we made fun of Florida in the process.

Jake Rowe also has stories about a nail in his tire, and a classic signing day Samurai sword tale.

Or is it a Katana?

Whatever it is, The Georgia Show has everything I just wrote about and plenty of nonsense along the way.
