Georgia will be without a pair of experienced guards when it takes on No. 8 Texas A&M in College Station on Tuesday night (9 p.m. ET on The SEC Network). When last night’s availability report, Tyrin Lawrence was ruled out and according to a statement from UGA sports communications on Tuesday morning, Dakota Leffew will also miss the game.

“Leffew was listed as available on the SEC’s initial availability report, which was submitted prior to Georgia’s practice in College Station on Monday evening,” UGA said in a statement, explaining why Leffew was not included on the Monday night availability report.

Leffew is a graduate from Hampton, Georgia and transferred to UGA from Mount St. Mary’s this offseason. He’s the team’s leading three-point shooter in terms of makes, with 46 on the season. He’s also averaging 10.7 points per game and has served as a starter in the past four games and has played in each of the Bulldogs 24 contests this season.

Lawrence is also a major contributor, starting the first 20 games of the season. He suffered what appeared to be a leg injury of some sort in Georgia’s loss to Mississippi State on Saturday. Mike White was unable to provide any clarity afterward.

“I don’t know either other than it’s leg. That’s all I know,” White told reporters after the game. “He’s bummed in the locker room. You know, fifth-year senior and wasn’t able to help his teammates, but as far as time frame and the severity, I have no idea right now.”

Lawrence is averaging 8.3 points per game in his first season as a Bulldog. The Monticello, Ga. native was at Vanderbilt before transferring to Georgia.

The Bulldogs are 16-8 on the season and they’re unlikely to get win No. 17 on Tuesday. Texas A&M is favored by 7.5 points according to the Vegas Insider consensus and Georgia is still looking for its first SEC road win of the season. The Bulldogs have been blown out at Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee, all top 10 teams, and they also blew a 15-point lead at Arkansas.

Most NCAA tournament projections still have the Bulldogs on the good side of the bubble, but they need at least three wins to get into the big dance. Four wins would almost certainly get Georgia into the field for the first time since 2015.
