WATCH: UGA Football players pop pads in glimpse at spring practice
UGA football players ushered in a new season with a sound that rivals the first crack of the bat at spring training.
The sound hits your ears as fully and wonderfully as a Chapel Bell gong following a Dawgs’ victory.
Georgia shared a glimpse of its 2022 team practicing in full pads at spring practice.
It’s the first time we’ve seen UGA’s football players get cracking since their National Championship victory.
Other clips showed Georgia spring practice workouts in helmets and shorts.
Once those silver (gray) britches come out though, a new season really feels official.

Kirby Smart started Georgia’s spring practice with his sentiments about this time of the Dawgs’ season.
‘’I’m excited about spring practice. This is actually my favorite time of year, believe it or not,” Smart said.

Not the SEC schedule. Not the postseason, or winning a National Championship.
Kirby Smart is talkin’ about practice.
“I like the fact that you have one practice and you have a day off to teach, and then you have another practice and you have another day off to teach. It slows things down for the players.
So if you enjoy coaching football and the relationships you get to have with the players, this is the best time of year because you literally get to sit in a meeting room, teach, go at a much slower pace.”
