UGA lands commitment of 2026 top 100 prospect Vance Spafford
With only a month left until National Signing Day, Georgia is working heavily on building the Class of 2025, but that isn’t slowing the Bulldogs down on the future either, as they added the commitment of 2026 wide receiver Vance Spafford on Tuesday afternoon.
A 5-foot-10, 175 pound pass catcher from Tustin, California and a product of Mission Viejo High, Spafford becomes Georgia’s third commitment of the Class of 2026 and the first wide received pledge of the cycle for the Bulldogs.
Spafford took in Athens for the Dawgs’ game against Mississippi State, his first trip to the Classic City, and that trip put the Bulldogs firmly in the driver’s seat for his services.
“My experience at Georgia was absolutely amazing,” Spafford told On3’s Chad Simmons following that trip in mid-October. “I loved every second that I was there. The atmosphere of the game was incredible. It definitely was a highlight. The stadium and the facilities were amazing too. The players and coaches were really nice and talked very well to me and about me. Even the other recruits were very nice. The visit definitely exceeded the expectations that I had.”

Vance Spafford currently ranks as the nation’s No. 74 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 per the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. He is the nation’s No. 13 wide receiver and No. 10 prospect in California for the class per the same metric.
He is currently joined in the Class of 2026 by a pair of fellow four-star prospects. Cornerbacks Dominick Kelly, the nation’s No. 163 overall prospect, and Jontavius Wyman, the nation’s No. 187 overall prospect, are also committed to the Bulldogs for the cycle.
That’s not the only action that Georgia has seen on the 2026 front, however. The Dawgs recently suffered the decommitment of five-star quarterback Jared Curtis in the 2026 cycle, but they remain in strong contention for his services despite that outcome.
