UGA lands first commitment in 2024 in top 100 prospect Antione Jackson
The Bulldogs may already have seven commitments for the Class of 2023, but cornerback Antione Jackson got things started for 2024 on Monday evening.
He announced his commitment to the Bulldogs via Twitter.
“Gotta’ thank God for this one, gave me heart and wisdom #thankGod #godawgs,” Jackson said.
How Antione Jackson ranks
A 5-foot-11 and a half, 170-pound cornerback out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s Dillard High School, Jackson stacks up as one of the top prospects in the rising junior class.
He is the On3 Consensus No. 84 prospect in the 2024 class, the No. 12 cornerback prospect, and No. 21 overall player in Florida.
According to GatorsOnline’s Corey Bender, “Clemson was Jackson’s favorite school growing up; however, the Tigers have yet to extend a scholarship offer.”

New defensive backs coach Fran Brown a major factor
Jackson was clear to DawgsHQ that his decision was in many ways based around Georgia’s new defensive backs coach.
Fran Brown comes to the Georgia staff with quite a resume, according to Palmer Thombs:
“Brown spent the last two seasons on staff under Greg Schiano at Rutgers, coaching defensive backs in his home state of New Jersey. The Scarlet Knights gained 19 turnovers in his first year with them in 2020, including eight interceptions, picking off a pass in each of the last four games including two against both Maryland and Nebraska. The turnover number was most in a season since 2012 and 10 more than they forced the previous year. Cornerback Tre Avery earned Third-Team All-Big Ten honors while safeties Christian Izien and Brendon White and cornerback Avery Young all were honorable mentions. In 2021, the number of turnovers decreased slightly to 17, seven of which were interceptions including a pick-six against Temple in the season-opener. The Scarlet Knights intercepted multiple passes in the win over the Owls along with their win over Indiana.”
