Georgia now has two commitments in the 2026 class after landing top-25 in-state prospect on Saturday. Jonesboro (Jonesboro, Ga.) cornerback Jontavius Wyman picked the Bulldogs over dozens of other offers.

Georgia co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Travaris Robinson and cornerbacks coach Donte Williams spearheaded the effort in land Hyman. At 6-feet 160 pounds, he is the nation’s 177 overall prospect and the No. 15 cornerback according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes all four websites that publish recruiting rankings. He’s the No. 21 prospect in Georgia.

The Bulldogs decided to extend an offer to Wyman this summer after a strong showing at a UGA camp. Soon after offering, Georgia became the front runner for the rising junior.

Wyman joins Nashville Christian School (Nashville, Tenn.) quarterback Jared Curtis as the Bulldogs’ only two commitments for the 2026 class. Curtis gave his commitment to the Bulldogs back in March. He’s the nation’s No. 7 overall prospect in that class per the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s the nation’s top quarterback at this time and the No. 1 player in Tennessee.

The addition of Wyman gets Georgia off to a faster start in the defensive backfield than 2025. The Bulldogs entered this summer with no commitments in the defensive backfield before landing four over a five-week period.

All of Georgia’s 2025 pledges are four-star prospects. The highest-ranked of the bunch, Shamari Earls (Thomas Dale; Chester, Va.), is the only one who projects as a true cornerback. Todd Robinson (Valdosta; Valdosta, Ga.), Jaylan Morgan (Rockvale; Mufreesboro, Tenn.) and Rashad Johnson (South Sumter; Bushnell, Fla.) all project as STAR or safety prospects.

That class follows a 2024 haul in which Georgia reeled in the nation’s No. 1 safety in KJ Bolden and the No. 1 cornerback in Ellis Robinson. The Bulldogs also signed two more four-star prospects in Demello Jones and Ondre Evans. All four are getting ready to begin their freshman seasons in Athens.
