The Bulldogs finished their SEC slate last week with a 34-17 win over Tennessee. They made easy work of UMass yesterday by a score of 59-21. The defensive performance wasn’t up to snuff but Georgia ran through the Minutemen and pulled away in the second half. Still, Kirby Smart wasn’t exactly pleased.

“I don’t know that it was just tackling,” Smart said after the win over UMass. “We did not tackle well, but it was more than just tackling. It was — like, I hate to say it, I just don’t think that our guys were ready to play and energized to play as their guys were. Their guys wanted it more than us, and it’s very rare that I could sit up here and say that. Like, they were playing harder, they were moving us, they were playing physical. They had some nice RPOs and some nice play designs, but it wasn’t about that. It’s, I want to — like, desire. That’s the biggest thing.”

UGA’s next game is in just five days as it will host in-state rival Georgia Tech on Friday, November 29. Kickoff for that game is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and it will be broadcast by ABC.
