Week In Review: Georgia basketball falls from top 25
Georgia basketball captivated the city of Athens for the last two weeks. Home wins over ranked SEC opponents Kentucky and Oklahoma created a buzz around campus. The Bulldogs made an appearance in the Associated Press’ top 25 for the first time in over a decade.
Things cooled a bit this week on the win-and-loss record. Georgia suffered two losses in SEC play last week. The first one came at the hands of Tennessee on the road in Knoxville.
Georgia lead at halftime before falling 74-56. Georgia played host to Auburn on Saturday.
The Bulldogs hung around all afternoon before the Tigers pulled away. Georgia pushed back into the game late and had an opportunity to tie the game late before falling 70-68 to the No. 1 team in the country.
Those two losses have dropped Georgia back outside of the top 25 in the AP Poll released on Monday. The Bulldogs will have ample opportunities to climb back to the land of ranked teams.
